The service
The decision engine accepts texts and questions and returns, for each, the most likely option and a probability for every option. These are model predictions: they can be wrong, and you are responsible for how you act on them.
The service is provided as-is. We aim for high availability but do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping API keys secret and for traffic issued under them. Rotate a key you believe is exposed; we cannot recover its secret.
Organisations own keys, usage and credits. Members with the owner or admin role can mint and revoke keys; members with the member role have read-only access.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to process content you have no right to process, to attempt to disrupt or overload it, or to probe other customers' data.
Do not attempt to circumvent metering or rate limits.
We may suspend an account that is causing harm to the service or to others, and will tell you why.
Billing
Usage is metered in billed tokens, priced per model, and billed against prepaid credits. Rates are shown in the dashboard and on the pricing page.
Credit purchases are processed by Stripe and sold through Link, Stripe's merchant of record, which also sends the receipt. They appear on your statement as LINK.COM*.
Credits are consumed as you use the service. If your balance runs out, requests return a 402 rather than silently continuing.
Credits do not expire. They stay on the account until you spend them, for as long as the account is open.
You can set balance thresholds that email a warning before you run out. Alerts are a courtesy, sent best-effort, and are never what stands between your account and a 402 — the credit balance is.
Refunds
Unused credit is refundable within 14 days of the purchase that created it. Email us and we will return it to the original payment method.
Usage you have already spent is not refundable. The work has been done and the compute is gone, so there is nothing left to return.
A refund of the whole of a purchase closes that purchase out. It does not remove usage you ran against it.
Fine Tune
When you start a fine-tune, you ask us to build a model for you from the text, labels and files you send. The Privacy page describes what happens to that text.
You must have the right to use what you upload for this, including permission from the people it came from where the law requires it. Do not upload payment card numbers, government ID numbers, passwords or keys, health records, or other special categories of personal data.
A job with a file holds the price shown when you start it, currently $2.00, from your balance while it runs. It is charged only if the result is better than OpenDecision-Small on rows you labeled. Every other ending, including failed, canceled, worse or no clear difference, releases the hold. A job with no file is never charged. Starting any fine-tune needs that amount in your balance.
Scores are measured on rows from your own files. A better result is not a promise about other text, and a charge for it is spent usage under Refunds.
The model we build for you is yours. You can call it through our API at the rates shown for it, or download it and run your copy anywhere, including after you close your account. It is built on OpenDecision-Small, which we publish under Apache-2.0, and that licence covers the parts that come from it.
We keep a model until you delete it. Deleting it stops hosted calls. A copy you downloaded keeps working.
Tax
Prices are exclusive of tax. Where we are required to charge sales tax, VAT or an equivalent, it is shown before you pay rather than added afterwards.
Closing an account
You can close your account whenever you like. We return the unused balance from any purchase made in the previous twelve months. Credit older than that is not refunded on closure, though it stays spendable for as long as the account is open.
We may suspend or close an account for the conduct described under Acceptable use, and we will tell you why. Unused credit on an account closed for that reason is forfeited.
Closing an account does not delete the usage counters we are required to keep for billing records. Those hold no request text; see the Privacy page for what they contain.
Changes
We may change these terms. Material changes will be notified to the account email before they take effect.
The wire contract is versioned. Additive changes will not break an existing integration; a breaking change increments the version.
Limitation of liability and governing law
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Delaware have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Nothing here limits a right you have that cannot be limited by the law that applies to you.
